Guidance for using Privela

Privela provides a PIN-protected Primary Vault and an optional independent Secondary Vault for Photos, Videos, Audio, Files, Notes, and Links. It does not require an account or developer-operated cloud storage.

Getting Started

• Create your PIN when you first open Privela.
• Import selected photos and videos, capture media with the camera, or add audio and files from the system pickers.
• Create notes or save HTTP/HTTPS links from the app or another app's Share sheet.
• Use albums and Files folders to organize content stored inside the app.

Content Types and Organization

All six content types are first-class entries on Home:

• Photos and Videos: browse in grid or list mode, preview, sort, and move items in batches.
• Audio and Files: use list browsing, folders where supported, sorting, moving, and Trash recovery.
• Notes: create and edit a title and plain-text body; edits replace the encrypted payload without changing the note's identity or join time.
• Links: save an HTTP/HTTPS URL with a user-facing title, edit it later, open it in the in-app browser, visit privately, copy, share, move, or restore it. The app stores the URL, not an offline copy of the web page.

Photos and Videos support grid/list preferences per Vault and type. Search Files by file or folder name, Notes by title or body text, and Links by title or the full saved URL from Home or the current directory/album. Note-body and URL searches use at least three characters. Search stays on device and is limited to the active Vault. Trash normally keeps app-owned copies moved there for 30 days so you can restore them before permanent deletion.

Sharing and Inbox

1. In Photos, Files, Safari, or another supported app, choose a photo, video, audio file, file, or URL.
2. Open the iOS Share sheet or Action extension and select Privela.
3. The item is encrypted into Inbox, where you can preview, organize, move, retry, or delete it before it reaches a regular album.

Inbox items are retained for 30 days. Items close to expiry show a warning so you can move them in time. Secondary Vault does not show the Inbox entry because Inbox is the Primary Vault's organizing surface.

You can also use From Link to enter a supported HTTP or HTTPS file link, or scan a QR code containing one. The app asks for confirmation before downloading and sends a type mismatch to Inbox instead of silently changing the destination.

Browser Access, Device Migration, and Backup

Browser Access: connect your iPhone and computer to the same trusted WiFi network, enable Browser Access in Settings, and enter the displayed address in a browser. You can manage supported app-owned copies, including upload, download, rename, and moving copies to Trash or permanently deleting them after confirmation. Stop the temporary service when you finish.

Device Migration: open Settings > Backup & Device Migration > Transfer over Wi-Fi. Keep both compatible devices unlocked, open, and on the same trusted WiFi network while transferring.

Encrypted Archive: use Backup & Device Migration to export an encrypted archive, then restore it on another compatible device with the source PIN. Keep your PIN safe; there is no developer recovery service.

Transfer Troubleshooting

• Confirm every device is connected to the same trusted WiFi network.
• Allow Local Network access for Privela in iOS Settings if prompted.
• Some guest, public, VPN, or enterprise networks block device-to-device connections.
• Keep both devices unlocked and Privela open during Device Migration.

Privela Pro

Privela Pro is available as an annual auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The App Store shows the current price before you buy. Pro unlocks Secondary Vault creation, custom app icon and start-screen options, unlimited custom albums and Files folders, encrypted archive export, sending a device migration, and removal of in-app banner ads. Pro does not include cloud storage.

The annual plan renews automatically unless canceled before renewal. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings using Apple's subscription instructions. The lifetime option is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. Apple handles billing and refund requests under its applicable terms and policies.

Security and local vaults

Every user has a Primary Vault; Privela Pro can add one independent Secondary Vault. Each uses its own PIN and encrypted local storage. Face ID can unlock the Primary Vault only after you tap the Face ID button on the PIN screen; it is never started automatically. Secondary Vault continues to use its separate PIN. The system photo picker is used only after an explicit user selection; deleting an item requires confirmation and only moves the app-owned encrypted copy to Trash. The app does not change original assets in the system Photos library.

To restore a previous purchase, open Settings > Privela Pro and choose Restore Purchases. If a purchase does not appear, confirm you are using the Apple Account that made the purchase and contact Apple Support for billing issues.
